Engaruka
The soil is poor, but the spirit is rich. In the dusty villages of Engaruka, families struggle together to improve their lives through raising livestock and farming.
Engaruka Lutheran Parish has six satellite congregations in nearby villages. Between them all, they serve to spread the Word through prayer, words, and song.
For nine students from Engaruka, the Rafiki Mwema scholarship is opening a door to their futures, allowing them to study together in secondary school.
There's no electricity or cell phone reception in this village. Far from the hustle (and hustlers) of the big city, the people of Engaruka have to work together to survive. The work and life of this Maasai village's Lutheran church.
